Professional exams demand reliable retrieval, not just a feeling of familiarity. A good study system makes you produce answers, review errors and revisit weak concepts over time.
Before spending another hour reviewing notes, answer a focused set of questions without looking at the explanation. Mark not only wrong answers but also guesses and slow answers. Those three groups reveal where your next study block will have the most value.
Some errors come from not knowing the rule. Others happen because the rule is known but not recognized inside a scenario. Review those errors differently: relearn missing knowledge, but practise new examples when recognition or application is the problem.
After each question, explain to yourself why the correct option works and why the strongest distractor does not. If you cannot state the distinction clearly, the item should return to your review queue even when you selected the correct letter.
Where calculations are relevant, write down the inputs and relationship before calculating. Speed usually improves after the setup becomes automatic. Memorizing an isolated formula without understanding the inputs can break down when the question changes its wording.
Chapter practice tells you what topic is being tested. Mixed practice removes that clue. That makes it a better test of exam readiness because you must identify the topic, choose the rule or method and then apply it.
